Exciting times to come.

The new year has come in and the old year has closed. The same has happened in the Pueblo Rangers Soccer Club. We have said good bye to our past president, Steve Milligan, after 11 years at the helm of the Pueblo Rangers and Sid Huddleston after giving 20 years as our Vice President. In those 20 years Sid had been a driving force behind the creation of the Sunbelt Classic soccer tournament that is now going on it's 15th year. Sid and Steve have seen the Rangers grow from a 15 advanced league teams to over 125 teams including advanced league, option 1 league, middle school league and recreational teams. They also started the drive to using MLS camps coaches to educate our coaches and players and then ushered in the hiring of our current Club Coach Stuart Szemaraj who works full time to carry on the work started by the MLS Camps coaches. Their contributions are one of many reasons why the Pueblo Rangers is largest and the best soccer club south of Colorado Springs. Thanks Sid and Steve.
Now we start a new chapter in the history of the Pueblo Rangers Soccer Club. We have voted in a new President, Steve Johnston, Who has had several children involved in the Rangers program for years. One of which, his son Lucas, who was tragically take from us at the age of 10 and the newest Pueblo Ranger who is only 1 but will be in a Rangers uniform before you now it. Steve and his family have been very active with the Rangers and he will bring a wealth of soccer and professional knowledge to the Rangers organization.
Jason Miller was voted in as our Vice President. Jason was on the first Rangers team in 1982 and now coaches his own children ages 4 and 6. He has been actively involved in the Colorado Make-A-Wish foundation and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Rangers organization.
The Pueblo Rangers Soccer club has a rich history of innovation and leadership helping to provide the best soccer experience for the children of Pueblo and surrounding communities and with our new leadership, the best is yet to come.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pueblorangers.blogspot.com/2012/01/great-times-past-exciting-times-to-come.html' title='Great times past. THEY ARE NOT! PSSA/Pueblo Soccer was registered with Colorado Youth Soccer as a Pueblo soccer club and was under the 501c3 of the Belmont Optimist Club of Pueblo. There is no Pueblo Corinthians registered with Colorado Youth soccer https://www.coyouthsoccer.org/club_links.html. They are under the 501c3 of the Corinthians Athletic Club of Colorado Springs and have a Pueblo office http://www.corinthianssoccer.com/clubs/522/pages/20597.
THEY ARE A COLORADO SPRINGS ORGANIZATION WITH A PUEBLO BRANCH.

On the other hand, the Pueblo Rangers Soccer Club is a Pueblo organization with its own 501c3 and are registered with Colorado Youth Soccer as a state soccer club https://www.coyouthsoccer.org/club_links.html. We are managed by Puebloans, staffed by Puebloans and our only office is in Pueblo. " We are the standard in the community" No you are not! The reason that the Pueblo Rangers started a recreational league in the first place was do to dissatisfaction that teams had with PSSA and begged us to start a recreational league. "When PSSA and the Belomont Optimist Club started the Pueblo Rangers". FALSE! The Pueblo Rangers were created by a group of soccer parents because the Belmont Optimist Club and PSSA would not entertain the proposal of letting any of their teams go competitive. The Pueblo Rangers were started in 1982 which, if my math is correct, means that the Pueblo Ranger have been the standard in competitive soccer in Pueblo for 28 years. Although it is true that the Pueblo Corinthians include Pueblo, volunteers and paid staff, the organization is still a subsidiary of the Corinthianas Soccer Club which according to Colorado Youth Soccer (CYS) is a Colorado Springs soccer club. There is no Pueblo Corinthians registered with CYS. The web site with a link for Pueblo Soccer is a hyper link on www.corinthianssoccer.com. There is no Pueblo Corinthians Soccer club registered as a non profit or with the sate of Colorado. The Pueblo Corinthians are owned by the Corinthians Soccer Club in Colorado Springs and your Executive Director is Flavio Mazzetti of Colorado Springs. The Pueblo Corinthians are a branch of a Colorado Spring soccer club. Not a Pueblo soccer club. These are FACTS. Look them up. The Pueblo Rangers have grown from 1/4 the size of PSSA to 3 times the size of the Pueblo Corinthians. Wonder why. May be a better product from a Pueblo soccer club. In the past the Rangers attempted several times to merge with PSSA. The argument given by several levels of PSSA management were: 1. We do not want to be part of a Competitive club, 2. We do not want to change our name. Well that doesn't seem to be an obsticle now since PSSA has joined with a competitive club (The Colorado Springs Corinthians) and have changed their name to Corinthians Soccer Club of Pueblo. Could someone please give me a logical answer as to why anyone would want to live in Pueblo and have their children play for a Colorado Springs soccer club. Why send your money to Colorado Springs when the home town organization can give your children the same experience and in most cases for less money. The time has come to take pride in being a Puebloan and support Pueblo business and organizations. We welcome any solid argument to the contrary.

Rangers and YMCA Partner

The Pueblo Rangers is excited to announce that we have partnered with the Pueblo YMCA to give more of Pueblo's children a chance to enjoy the sport of soccer under the guidance of Pueblo's only home town soccer club.
